Learning and Growing Together Every Day!
Nestled in the heart of the Tega Cay peninsula, Tega Cay Elementary is a designated Collective Leadership School through the South Carolina Department of Education. Additionally, in April 2025, Titan Country was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, Lighthouse School. One of the key elements of this initiative is to cultivate leadership in both our Titan staff and students. Through vulnerable collaboration, we build strong relationships that fuel our mission of learning and growing together every day. Our dedicated and trained staff provide exceptional, individualized learning experiences using a comprehensive three-tiered model called Ci3T. This model addresses students' academic, behavioral, and social needs, ensuring all students receive the support they need to succeed.

Igniting Potential:
A World-Class Education
Tega Cay Elementary cultivates a diverse, respectful, and driven community of future leaders—our "Titans." We instill positive character traits through our IROCC CORE Values: Integrity, Relationships, Open-mindedness, Commitment, and Compassion. Our Ci3T Behavior Expectation Matrix incentivizes students who meet expectations with Titan Tickets, which can be redeemed to purchase items from our Titan Treasures Store or Titan Country Experiences.
Our dedicated teachers and staff are creating authentic learning environments that are buzzing with energy! These student-driven classrooms ignite teamwork, spark critical thinking, and encourage a willingness to take risks—all essential ingredients for success! This dynamic approach lays the foundation for students to develop the world-class skills, knowledge, and character outlined in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. This collaborative process empowers our teachers! They share best practices across grade levels, cultivate a positive school culture, build strong relationships, and celebrate each other's amazing contributions. These collaborative efforts unite our teachers and staff as a cohesive force, creating an unstoppable wave of positive impact on our students' learning and growth! Our impact goes beyond our classroom and school walls. We are a Winthrop University Partnership school, are a partner school for Collective Leadership where we hosted a statewide Learning Lab in January, and attended the National Blue Ribbon Conference where we accepted our Light House School Award and presented to fellow educators across the nation about our school culture and growth.
Leading In Titan Country:
I-ROCC = I-LEAD
Leadership opportunities abound in Titan Country as we live out our Priority of Practice: How might we create Titans as Leaders? In Titan Country, we don’t just follow, we lead. Teachers are empowered to lead from where they are or outside of the classroom and build relationships with students other than their own. Students are empowered to step into meaningful leadership roles through a wide range of exciting clubs led by our incredible teachers, staff, and parents. While offerings may vary each year, the 2025–2026 school year featured opportunities such as Chess Club, Girls on the Run, Let Me Run, Battle of the Books, No Place for Hate, Safety Patrol, IROCC House Ambassadors, Lost and Not Yet Found, Titan Treasures, News Crew, Breakfast Crew, Safety Patrol, Titan Buds, Lighthouse Council, Photography Club, and Titan Talks Podcast. These experiences cultivate confidence, build connections, and inspire our students to grow as leaders who make a positive impact.
Building a Stronger Community Through Our House System
In August 2021, we launched the Titan House System, fostering character, camaraderie, and positive behavior within our school family. Each student and staff member belongs to one of five Houses, representing one of Titan Countries core values. This year, we focused on strengthening the sense of community alongside individual house spirit. We adopted the motto "Five Houses, One Home, Titan Country!" This was exemplified by our houses working together to support each other's chosen philanthropies, including the York County Humane Society, Special Olympics, Little Libraries in Tega Cay and Fort Mill, and the Fort Mill Care Center. For instance, in partnership with the Fort Mill Care Center, students collected goods to add to the Fort Mill Care Center pantry. The student ambassadors were able to take a bus to the Fort Mill Care Center and learn about the services they provide for the community. This allowed them to see the difference they were helping make in their own area.
This year, we enhanced our House System by introducing dedicated House Days centered on celebrating our core values. We are proud to recognize our Top Titans from each classroom for their commitment to these principles. From this group, one student was honored as the Titan of the House for embodying our values both inside and outside the classroom. The highest honor, Titan of the Cay, was awarded to the student who consistently went above and beyond in their daily school life. These students truly embody what it means to be a Titan!
Students earned House Points by demonstrating IROCC behavior, by adhering to our school-wide expectations. Ways each house could earn points included earning the Golden Spoon, being named IROCC Class of the Month, and collecting individual student tickets. To celebrate collective success, the House with the most points was treated to an exclusive after-assembly dance party!

Additionally, our PTO teamed up with the Town of Fort Mill for the Annual Scarecrow Crawl which partners fun and community engagement!
